It is the mission of Central Six AlabamaWorks to create a 21st century workforce that is proactive, responsive and results driven; supports the region’s diverse population and employers; and provide quality job opportunities in support of the vibrant regional economy. To do so we must ensure that we not only provide and create opportunities for our residents, but that we ensure these opportunities are in safe and healthy environments. In an effort to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus, we are aligning with recommendations from the Alabama Department of Public Health, the Alabama Department of Commerce, the State Department of Education and the City of Birmingham to not assemble students prior to April 30, 2020. This means we will not host the annual Worlds of Work at SkillsUSA event scheduled for April 13th -15th at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center. This year we had over 5,200 students registered and regret that we are not able to provide this event to our students. We continue to be committed to ensuring career awareness and exposure for our students and will look to provide additional opportunities next school year.
Please continue to follow us on our website and social media as we continue to build a qualified, talented workforce.
